About this deal

If you’re planning to buy the TTArtisan lens it has a 67mm filter size. I use a K&F 10 stop variable ND filter which is 77mm so I would use a 67mm-77mm step ring.(I bought 77mm size so one filter fits all my lenses). See my Kit List for all the little accessories I use day to day. TTArtisan 50mm f0.95 + Lumix GX880 video rig! Can I recommend the TTArtisan 50mm f0.95? Made-in- U. S. A. Davis 6250 weather station, 19 December 2020. LEICA M9, TTArtisan 50mm f/1.4 ASPH at 1/ 4,000, 1/ 4,000, 1/ 2,000 and 1/ 750 at ISO 80, 160, 160 and 160, Perfectly Clear. LEICA digital cameras may have a lens profile, which do some minor corrections for falloff and corner color shading for LEICA's lenses, and that's it. I use the SUMMILUX 50mm f/1.4 ASPH (11891/11892) profile on my LEICA M9, which works fine. So far most of the TTArtisan E-mount lenses have first been released as M-mount lenses and then later been modified for other mounts. This 50mm 2.0 is different though, as it isn’t even available for M-mount and the casing design also differs a lot from their M-mount lenses. Like the M-mount lenses it is also made by DJ-Optical though.

The focusing ring is enough dampened and turn by around 120° from 0.5m to infinity , it is nicely ribbed and allow for a good grip At large apertures, this TTArtisan lens is significantly sharper than my LEICA SUMMILUX 50mm f/1.4. The XF50mm f/1 R WR has autofocus, and obviously the IQ from that lens will run circles around the TTartisan 50mm f/1.2. But in reality these two lenses can’t really be compared based on anything other than their shared focal length.

I have both versions of the KamLan 50mm F1.1. The original (Mark I) is my favorite for everyday shooting. It is small and light, and feels right on my X-E1 camera. I bought it after I bought the Mark II, and I'm glad I did. The TTArtisan 50mm 2.0 shows a rather pronounced but mostly uniform pincushion distortion. Dialing in -6 in Lightroom/Photoshop will correct this sufficiently for most subjects, but some traces of distortion in the corners remain. Bokeh Sony A7rII | TTArtisan 50mm 2.0 | f/2.0 Focus is wither with two fingers on the ring for precise setting, or one finger on the tab for fast work. Shot wide open at f/1.2. Uncropped frame. Cornersharpness is decent even at long ranges. (open image in new tab for full size) Even at medium distances of about 5-10 meters it actually performs quite well at f/1.2. I wasn’t expecting this.

We will be looking at 100% crops from the 24mp Sony A7III and the Leica M10. Both cameras do not have an anti aliasing filter in front of the sensor.A minimum focus distance of ~0.6 m is average for a 50mm lens. Of course a lens this small does not feature a floating elements design so I expected very soft pictures at f/2.0.

This is a great little hunk of a lens. It's very good optically and built like a Swiss tank — just like LEICA. The out of focus rendering of this lens is really really smooth! Wide open the specular highlights (or bokeh balls….merry Christmas 😀 ) look absolutely amazing. Round, clean, no harsh edges and no onion rings. Just amazingly clean looking bokeh!

At about 4 meters (12 feet) and closer this lens has a reasonably flat field, however at longer distances the field of best focus curves-in a bit towards the sides so that things a bit closer are in better focus at the sides. Right. In the really, really old days, when most cameras and lenses were MF, you had an OVF that helped with manual focus: you had your split image in the center and the microprism collar, both helping you achieve good focus, and the focus ring itself was very accurate. I really enjoy myself shooting with this lens and challenging myself to get the focus right, manually. I'm having a blast with it. I didn't have my LEICA SUMMMILUX-M 50mm f/1.4 ASPH handy for a direct comparison, but as I recall this TTArtisan lens is about the same. The focusing ring is also very smooth and has about 120 degree focus throw from 0.5m to infinity. Very fast to focus, yet precise as the closest distances. The grip on the focus ring is not rubber, it’s ribbed etched metal. It feels perfectly smooth with nice dampened stops at each end of the spectrum.
