I know what you mean about 5th Avenue, it’s one I get for summer quite often as in the heat it just gives a harmless clean perfumed effect on me and now I think of it, Mum would like it. L'Aimant ("magnet" in French) is a elegant, sophisticated and classic combination of floral botanicals that relaxes and warms the senses and soul. There’s a kinship to YSL Paris in the heart that I notice when I sniff closely, and the base is very classical, with oakmoss and sandalwood. I happen to love the smell of Elnett hairspray because it reminds me of being 16 and backcombing my hair to oblivion, being very accepting of the sad parts of life and not paying much attention to trying to fit in.

I don't know what the cologne concentration smells like, or how more modern iterations smell like but I have a small vial of the parfum dating back from the 1950s.L'Aimant is a floral fragrance with notes of bergamot, neroli, peach, strawberry, jasmine, rose, ylang-ylang, vanilla, vetiver and sandalwood. I have not tried L’Aimant in this packaging, but I do have an Emeraude edt from this era, and it is very faint. Fragrances accompanied me through the pandemic, and I've sometimes worn several per day, especially when working from home.
