Light Chaser', a collaborative writing effort by veteran authors Peter Hamilton and Gareth Powell, is a very cool hard-science-fiction novella about a traveler of space in the year 28367! Tags: Rescue Mission, Lawyer Male Lead, Doctor Female Lead, Brother-Sister Relationship, Disaster, Rescue Team, Earthquake, Father-Daughter Relationship, Male Chases Female First, Multiple Couples (Vote or add tags) As the show moved forward, it also built the viewers’ empathy for our two leads. The more we find out why they were the way they were, the more we understood them including their arrogance and aloofness that put us off at first. Still, many viewers would find both characters frustrating at different points of the story, especially in their interactions with their families and with each other. The nitty-gritty: A galaxy-spanning mystery and an unexpected love story, Light Chaser is one of my favorite novellas of the year. While it comes across as a loner pilot trading stories across many light-years, alone with her AI, the deeper story is one that caught me quite by surprise.
