About this deal

The initial role of the flex pipe was to make vehicles more silent. Vehicles without flex pipes will likely experience more vibration in their exhaust system. Fast-moving exhaust gases in the engine can cause the pipe to vibrate out of control, making them collide with other parts of the vehicle creating some sounds.

Our Stainless 304 Exhaust Flexi are different to others, simply because our flexibles are 100% stainless steel. What you will find with some suppliers is that the flexi itself is stainless but the ends are mild steel, which as a result with only rust away eventually. Time and usage will take their toll on your flex pipe exhaust and lead to broken components, damaged joints, and leaks. What should you do when this happens? Follow the steps below to limit the damage. 1. Assess The Damage Personally, I have used flex pipe with my Honda Civic, and although there was no change in my engine’s performance, the sound of my exhaust was less disturbing. I have been using the pipe for a while now and have had no problems with my exhaust system. What Is a Flex Pipe? Loud Noise . The first sign of a bad or leaking flex pipe is a change in the sound. Typically, a flex pipe does not add or affect your vehicle’s sound in any way; if anything, it reduces the sound from the exhaust system. If the flex pipe is too flexible, the exhaust pipes will easily get displaced by the movement of the gases. It will cause leaks and other exhaust issues in your vehicle. It’s important to keep in mind that a damaged flexi pipe can lead to other problems such as reduced power, reduced fuel efficiency, and even smoke coming out of the exhaust. So, don’t delay in getting your flexi pipe repaired. A professional mechanic is always the best option for this kind of repair, as it requires specialized tools and knowledge to fix it properly. Causes of Flex Pipe Damage

If the damage is localized and the pipe is not too corroded, a welder can repair the flex pipe. This is a good option if you want to keep your original flex pipe. Clamp-on flexi pipe repairBetween the muffler flange and the flex pipe, you will find the gasket. Pull it out. Now you can clean the flange with a stiff wire brush. Step Six With the pipe, the risk of having an exhaust leak will drop drastically. You can use the pipe with turbochargers, and can connect the pipe with downpipes. To solve this problem, you will need to create a kind of support for the turbocharger. Many people decide to redesign the turbine or exhaust side so that it can carry the weight of the turbocharger. It may not work for you if your turbine side includes flex pipes. Where the flex pipe meets the downpipe, secure them in place with a clamp. Tighten with a wrench and finish by re-tightening the bolts that hold the downpipe and the muffler. Cut plastic ties from the flex pipe.
