It is not to say I have not found a routine, but I have not perfected it and am finding that I may use the app more in the evenings than the morning and probably in total using it 50-60% of the time. What I can’t really get my head around is why there is no icon for the Daily Clean mode. OK, it is the default mode but why exclude it from the icons and have one for every other mode? The battery status icons flashes when low. The flashing helps but a percentage guide would be useful, but I have yet to see a brush that offers this. I would have thought that the partnership with the app would have allowed this, but sadly no evidence of this. An idea for a future update?
The Sensitive brush head has softer bristles that are not angled and are less abrasive on the teeth and gums. Ideal if you have or suffer from increased sensitivity. Whilst it is up for question as to whether Oral-B’s implementation is the best route to go, it is a logical one and perhaps to me the most obvious option as more and more of us have our smartphones on us all the time and often pay more attention to what they are telling us more than other humans sometimes.
What’s more, it delivers an excellent clean, with three modes – Sensitive, Daily Clean and Whitening – that take you all the way from a softer brush that’s easy on the gums to a more intense polish that should help get rid of staining. Battery life, meanwhile, is exceptional; you’ll easily get through two weeks of brushing and probably three without a recharge. It’s the king of sensibly priced brushes and one of the easiest recommendations in the Oral-B range. If you have perfected your technique you may have less to gain than others, but I was impressed at just how well the app works and monitors you clean, it still had areas where I could improve! The battery lasts up to 48 minutes, which if used on the standard daily clean mode is 12 days based on 2 cleans per day. Comfort is our most important metric, responsible for 40% of the total score, as an uncomfortable toothbrush can make your teeth cleaning experience so unpleasant that you won't want to use it. Regardless of how well your electric toothbrush cleans, it won't make a shred of difference to your dental hygiene if you don't use it. We rated these products on how comfortable they are to brush with, if there is an over-pressure sensor, and how loud each model was.

You do not need to include accessories like the brush heads or refill stand. Battery life is always a point to consider, but in this case, there is little to say. The four brushes in the Genius series offer an autonomy of more than two weeks, as well as wireless charging. It is time to look at aesthetics The Oral-B Genius 8000 toothbrush features a Lithium Ion battery and smart travel case that’s designed to charge both your toothbrush and smartphone using only one outlet, all while delivering long-lasting, consistently powerful cleaning action for up to 12 days between charges. Otherwise, it has the same tech and the same key strengths as the iO Series 6 and iO Series 9, giving you a smoother brush with less vibration than the older Genius models, yet still delivering an excellent ‘fresh from the dentists’ clean. You also get the same pressure sensor and timer, the same two weeks plus battery life, and the same OLED display and app-connected features. Given that the differences between this brush and the Series 9 are minor, the Series 8 makes a pretty strong case for itself as the best Oral-B brush to buy. The 8000 and all Oral-B brushes made for the UK come with a 2 pin connector on the charging cables. This is because they have been designed to be used with power outlets found in bathrooms that use a 2 pin configuration.
