About this deal

Jeffrey Archer is not a stranger of success, being rated as one of Britain's highest paid authors. Here the talented man decides to pay homage to Alexander Dumas, creating a book similar in many cases to the legendary 'The Count of Monte Crisco.' She tried to look surprised, but wasn't all that convincing as she had already decided that they were going to be married when they were at secondary school. However, she was amazed when Danny fell on one knee in the middle of the crowded restaurant. I can't wait to start another one of Jeffrey Archer's masterpieces. I thought his modern version of Cain and Abel was good, but this takes it to another level. He is not recognized enough for how smart, modern, humorous, and witty his writing is. When Beth and Danny strolled into the Dunlop Arms, they found Bernie seated at a corner table with a bottle of champagne and three glasses by his side.

Not tonight," said Danny, not letting go of Bernie's arm as he continued to lead his friend on down the alley. When Danny finally got off his knee, he took her by surprise again. He immediately began to tap a number on his mobile. Beth knew only too well who would be on the other end of the line. The plot and characters were so well developed. It had so many twists and turns. It was a little predictable in that it's a modern day version of The Count of Monte Cristo, but it was done in such an interesting way I didn't mind. And it's even better than the original classic, if that's possible. Beth flagged down the cabbie as the man Bernie had felled staggered past her and disappeared into the night. While the word “un-put-downable” is one bandied around for almost every book, this is one novel that truly deserves it. The best part about the book is the way Jeffrey Archer used the beauty of the English language to weave the story.

Yes," Beth repeated, hoping he'd stand up before everyone in the room stopped eating and turned to stare at them. But he didn't budge. Danny remained on one knee, and like a conjurer, produced a tiny box from nowhere. He opened it to reveal a simple gold band boasting a single diamond that was far larger than Beth had expected—although her brother had already told her that Danny had spent two months' wages on the ring. As a friend very rightly put it… ’A Prisoner of Birth’ has all the makings of a Bollywood Masala Movie. Oh, I don't know," said the other man. "There are times when I quite like a slut's mouth to be open." The language is simple and yet it is brilliant in that, it takes your breath away. Whenever I think of this book, there is always one quote from it that always comes to my mind: “We all suffer in our own different ways from being prisoners of birth”. I want to leave," said Beth firmly. "I don't need a bunch of public-school snobs ruining my engagement party."However, Spencer Craig, Lawrence Davenport, Gerald Payne, and Toby Mortimer all underestimate Danny’s determination to seek revenge, and Beth’s relentless quest to pursue justice, which ends up with all four fighting for their lives, In fact, among the 500 novels I've read, I've only read: Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons and The Lost Symbol;Ken Folett's The Eye of the Needle, Hornet's Nest and Whiteout; John Le Carre's The Spy Who Came in From Cold; Ian Fleming's Casino Royale; Vince Flynn's Protect and Defend; John Grisham's The Appeal and Robert Ludlum's The Ambler Warning. I've already phoned Mum and Dad," said Bernie as he popped the cork and filled the three champagne glasses. "They didn't seem all that surprised, but then it was the worst-kept secret in Bow."

This was such a well written suspense/thriller. It's weaned me off my fantasy series books; it was such a good read. Access-restricted-item true Addeddate 2021-07-16 19:01:53 Boxid IA40174003 Camera Sony Alpha-A6300 (Control) Collection_set printdisabled External-identifier

Beth didn't protest; after all, Bernie was not only her brother, but Danny's oldest friend, and he'd probably already asked him to be his best man. She said yes!" Danny announced triumphantly. Beth smiled as she held the diamond under the light and took a closer look. "Why don't you join us?" Danny added before she could stop him. "Great, let's meet at that wine bar off the Fulham Road—the one we went to after the Chelsea game last year. See you there, mate." Every character in the book is portrayed beautifully and they are bound to stay with you long after you have finished reading it. Not even once would you feel bored or want to skip any part of the book. The cabbie glanced over her shoulder and down the alley. "I don't think it's a taxi they'll be needing, luv," he said. "If they were my friends, I'd be phoning for an ambulance." This is the most well written book to which I've given a 1. It's also the first one star rating I've given to Jeffrey Archer. If you searched the words 'go to' in my dictionary, you'll find a picture of Archer. That's no longer true. More than the first half of the book had some merit, but it was only about build up, promise, and expectation. All three undercut, broken, and betrayed, respectively. If a restaurant makes you wait for so long that you're not faint of hunger but bored, impatient, and surly, do you feel satisfied in any way when a bunch of tripe is served to you? Of course(no pun intended) not; that is not sweetening the deal.

Dream on," said Bernie. "Just because Danny boy's shaved and washed his hair for a change, don't think he's gonna make a habit of it, sis. No chance. Just remember that your future 'usband works in the East End, not the City." They are both oaks, even if they were planted in different forests. But then, m’lord, we all suffer in our different ways from being prisoners of birth.Google ) المثيرة للضحك، و دار النشر التي لم تُكلف نفسها في تعيين مُصحح لغوي، الأخطاء النحوية و الإملائية و الأسلوبية كانت كابوسًا استمر طيلة سبعمائة صفحة! طبعة سيئة لأقصى حد و لا أنصح بها بتاتًا. A Prisoner of Birth is, basically, a retelling of Alexandre Dumas’s “The Count of Monte Cristo”. However, whether you have read that classic or not, you are bound to enjoy Archer’s version. To hell with that," said Bernie. "It's not every day that my little sister gets engaged to my best mate. Another bottle!" he shouted.
