About this deal

To remedy this, I used the included stop collar to only drill the holes about 9/10 of the way through, then flipped the piece over and finished boring out the holes from the other side.

Quote from: sandy on January 04, 2020, 07:32 PM I have various templates as well as the Parf Guide system. This could be the reason the guide rail brackets and fence attach and reference from the extruded side rails and not the holes in the top. In this video I make a MFT top for my new workbench / assembly table for use with bench dogs, fences and accessories without the use of a CNC or any expensive guide jig systems. So remove the dogs and reinsert the dogs 100 times into that CNC machined MFT you had made and the apply pressure from different directions to the dog holes and then simply measure the pattern and you will find out that your perfect MFT is less than perfect.

To reduce the risk of serious injury and/or damage to your Festool product, always read, understand and follow all warnings and instructions in your Festool product's Instruction Manual. The knife mark is difficult to see in this footage, so I used my pencil just to highlight it for the camera.

Benchdogs ship internationally so if you're not in the UK you can still get hold of them and they do imperial accessories as well as metric. This configuration makes it possible to use multiple off-the-shelf accessories: joint clamps, clamping elements, stops, etc. Place the LR32 guide on the rail with the guide at one of the rail holes and slide the rail so that the tip of the 20 mm bit is at the first mark, then clamp the two ends of the rail to the MDF. I guess that can also be said for various jigs and aids, but those were created for a purpose that the Festool MFT's were not. Quote from: sandy on January 11, 2020, 06:49 PM Festool 491072 is the one that I use, without any problems. They also have some other plywood products intended for cabinetry work that have plywood cores and manufactured surfaces. Then I could cut it to length and I made my jig 800mm in length which is the same measurement as the width of my table top, and that's important. Quote from: Francis_Beland on January 10, 2020, 09:06 PM I'm currently in the process of doing this and I'm really disappointed by the 20mm Festool router bit.

And that means moving the MFT, after roughly ten years of being in the same place; who knows what I'll find under there. Since the method described does not rely upon wasting any of the MDF, you can make three MFT/3 replacement tops from a single sheet of 4' x 8' MDF. Finally I want to talk briefly about the MFT accessories that I plan to use going forward, and here they are - all of these came from BenchDogs. It can be helpful to drill a small hole that is 71 mm from each edge at the corner of the MDF, as that will help in aligning the rail.By profession I'm a computer engineer, but by passion I'm a designer and maker of handcrafted objects.
