I kept waiting for the thing to go off the rails with some brutal Patrick Still Lives style violence, but it never happened. Curti noted that there are no stand-in for the scenes where Laennec perform fellatio to the Uncle Adolfo character. So, when I first discovered Burial Ground a few years back, I also discovered this film right along with it.

Malabimba capitalizes not only on The Exorcist but the success of the Italian import Beyond the Door, plus adds a heavy helping of The Devils-inspired nunsploitation. But, I’ve never really sat down to watch this movie, because when I first discovered it I wasn’t really into sexploitation films and then it sorta evaded my mind. But in reality Bimba, subjugated by the soul of Lucrezia, sexually tempts the nun into a downward spiral of unspeakable debauchery. It's unbelievably sleazy (it's got hardcore inserts) and also super silly (the weird characters and the interactions they have with each other). Lucrezia tries to take possession of the soul of Sister Sofia, who has lived in the castle to take care of the paralytic Adolfo, owner of the castle together with his brother Andrea, the husband of the murdered woman. Apparently producer Gabriele Crisanti didn't thought the film was sleazy enough so he edited together an alternative version which included about five minutes of hard core sex footage. One of the most degenerate treasures in EuroSleaze history, this notoriously hard-edged EXORCIST riff is a sex-crazed shocker from director Andrea Bianchi (BURIAL GROUND, STRIP NUDE FOR YOUR KILLER), but it might has well been the result of a pact with Satan himself.
