You may be able to see some dark spots where it looks like it started to melt, but overall, I’m super happy with the results. Hats like bucket hats or sun hats may not have a sweatband – in that case you don’t need to worry about flipping those out. Even though this is an iron-on design and this sheet is sticky, I’m going to go ahead and tape it down. I’ve really only had GOOD success using the EasyPress Mini and it took a LOT longer and rolling a towel inside the hat to try to have something to press against didn’t work nearly as well as the form included with the Hat Press. At busy times such as sale periods we may not be able to dispatch your item until the next working day.

I have learned to always lint roll my surface well before adding any material, HTV or Infusible Ink, to it. On the Cricut trucker hat the front is polyester so you can use sublimation products or Infusible Ink on the front. Personally I think the possibility of wrinkle-free heat transfers are so hit and miss it isn’t worth the wasted materials and blanks.

However, if I was running a business and I was going to make 40 hats, the hat press might not be the solution for me.

Note: While designs smaller than this may also be transferred, be aware that very thin lines of iron-on (HTV) may not transfer successfully. You do still want to make sure the sweatband is out so you have a smooth surface once you get your hat on. I got them all to work by turning that hat form the same way and pulling it over the side instead of over the top. I have not yet tried one but Cricut says yes and I’ve seen people do it with both Infusible Ink and HTV successfully.
