About this deal

This is an indication that the timber has absorbed as much oil as possible and doesn't require any more. I don’t get anywhere near the 65 square metres of coverage that the manufacturers quote, but that’s perhaps the nature of the Red Cedar. Please note that the colour shades displayed are a true likeness of the original when applied to the corresponding timber ie.

If greyed in the seasoning period clean with Osmo Wood reviver Gel, Wet timber Apply Gel Liberally, scrub in with Osmo cleaning brush, Leave for up to 30 minutes, Scrub the surface a second time, wash off with copious amounts of water, do not pressure wash, leave to dry 48 hours. Thermowood and Thermally Modified Timber (TMT): prone to grey very fast and therefore application is recommended within the first two weeks after processing. Clean new wooden surfaces as well as old surfaces with WOCA Exterior Wood Cleaner before starting the oil treatment. For quick and easy application, we recommend using the Osmo Floor Brush with the Osmo Telescopic Handle. For a quick and easy application, we recommend using Osmo 150mm Floor Brush which was tailor-made for decking and allows you to apply the finish while standing. Osmo Decking-Oils produce a smooth, somewhat satin finish that is incredibly water and dirt-resistant while also protecting, maintaining, and beautifying the wood's surface. If you’re looking for a decking oil with anti-slip properties, consider using Osmo’s Anti-Slip Decking Oil. Osmo Decking Oil enhances the natural character of the wood helping to prevent cracking, splitting and warping. In addition the colour will vary with the wood depending on age, pre-treatment etc and therefore it is always advisable, particularly when being applied to standard softwood decking to always test on a small inconspicuous area first. Staining is a wood treatment process that involves applying a pigment to the surface to change its colour, while oiling involves applying an oil-based product to the wood’s surface which will offer it protection and nourish the natural material. They know what it comes down to in terms of wood products and finishes so you can benefit from over 100 years of our experience. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. High performance decking oil is a versatile product which gives a water and UV resistant finish to most types of exposed timber.
