It’s truly satisfying and mesmerising to have a bright orange or green lipsticks turn into a beautiful pink or coral! Its Hello Sailor and Frog Prince lip and cheek products have developed a cult following since their launches, and for good reason: they give a subtle hint of color and look good on all skin tones. I felt compelled to comment on this post, as I own and really enjoy two LQ lipsticks, both in the Saints formula: Fire Red, and Rust. The constant demand for novelty is directly opposed to everything that Besame and other vintage-inspired brands represent.

You should put it on and wait a few minutes and see how the colour develops on you, and if you want to intensify the colour add another layer and see what it looks like in a few minutes. I have repurchased that green one (cleverly named Frog Prince) more times than I can count and I’ve given it as gifts just as many times – because it’s foolproof since it reacts with each individual’s body!Do you think these vintage-inspired lipstick brands are experiencing business challenges specific to their niche?

I'd definitely use Highway 66 (a pale green balm that turns into a light peach) as an everyday lip balm —you can swipe it on without a mirror, which is a requirement I now have for all of my lip balms since moving to New York.The tube was also cute, but it felt slightly less luxurious than the ornate box had led me to expect. MAC Cosmetics also has some shade-shifting options, though theirs will give you less of a shock when you open the tube. I was remembering 10 or 12, but there are actually 21, plus a few new shades (Mauve, Bordeaux, and Candy). Selling colours that transform, and textures and formulas that are moisturising, Lipstick Queen have a lip product for every one, no matter the occasion. I feel confident in saying that if your lips have any texture at all —any dry patches or lines —you probably won’t be able to wear Black Lace Rabbit on its own.

There does seem to be a stark divide between LQ's original concept (classic colors in nice formulas) and its current one.
