About this deal

The Bullet Strat carries the classic looks of the American Stratocaster guitars, which are one of the most popular guitars of all time, right there with the legendary Gibson Les Paul series. The major difference between Squier and Fender is that Fender is made in Mexico or the US, while Squier is made in Asia. And there are different levels of quality control and standards on these locations. The main thing guiding you to buy this guitar could very well be how affordable it is. As you’ve seen, the Squier Bullet Stratocaster gives you a great bargain for its playability, appearance, and sound. The Bullet Mustang - like all Mustangs - is what we’d consider to be a ‘short scale’ guitar. This means that the scale length - the distance between the bridge saddles and the nut of the guitar - is shorter than the usual Fender-style scale length of 25.5” by an inch and a half. It doesn’t seem a lot, but it makes a notable difference to the string tension, and makes the guitar feel a bit easier to play as a result. There’s also less distance between frets - something which will suit smaller players well. If you’ve got big hands you might struggle, but fear not - there’s plenty of full-scale options on the market too. Stratocaster guitars have existed since the mid-’50s. Fender debuted these instruments right after the Telecaster model.

The hardware in starter guitars can be one of the worst components—thankfully Squier doesn’t cheap out here. The Bullet series is the most affordable range of Squier guitars on the market, and includes Stratocaster, Telecaster and Mustang models. The main aim of the Bullet series is to enable young or beginner players to own an instrument that looks, sounds and feels good without costing the earth. Don’t expect something mind-blowing - but a Bullet will definitely help get you started. Affinity Kids just want something that looks cool and works. And the Bullet series can do so much more than this. The Squier Bullet Stratocaster is an extremely affordable guitar that is ideal for beginners. But is the Squier Bullet Stratocaster worth buying in 2021? Let’s find out…The Squier Bullet Stratocaster gives you a great bargain for its playability, appearance, and sound. And you will get great, easy playing experiences with some nice extras (like the tremolo bridge) to begin your musical journey. In summary, I can say the Squier Bullet Stratocaster was built with a single purpose: to be a beginner’s guitar. Its shortlist of limitations won’t be even important for a beginner guitar player, much less for children. Beginner Guitar HQ I know a lot of guitarists can have a bad opinion about “cheap” guitar brands like Squier—I used to be one of them. Further investigation by Guitar Player revealed that Prior had done a bit more tweaking of Rutherford's Squiers than the guitarist let on, but still left them – to a greater extent than one would expect – largely factory standard. It might be hard to tune the Bullet Strat for the first time, especially if you’re a beginner guitar player.

When asked by Guitarist if there had been any mods made to the Squiers for onstage use, Rutherford said, "My guitar tech Steve Prior, who’s the best guitar tech in the world, did change the machine heads. But it's about what works for you, really." If you want to put Gotoh tuners on you’ve got to enlarge the peghead holes. I also recut the nut and dressed the frets. I would maybe recommend upgrading the electronics to Switchcraft and CTS too. It’s about fine-tuning the guitar really. Bullet Strat is the most affordable version of the Strat’s that Fender produces with their Squier brand. So The Bullet Strats are the lowest in quality too, but this doesn’t mean that they are bad. I can say the Bullet Strat has a great value that won’t require you to spend your savings. And you will get great, easy playing experiences with some nice extras (like the tremolo bridge) to begin your musical journey. The Squier Bullet range contains some of the most affordable and wallet-friendly guitars that Fender makes, without compromising on style, tone or comfort. They’re still built with notorious attention to detail and carry great tuning capabilities – an area where a lot of other budget-friendly guitars fall down. SQUIER BULLET - A VARIETY OF ICONIC DESIGNS AVAILABLE

In addition to this, the Squier Bullet Stratocaster also features a tremolo bridge which lets you use a whammy bar if that’s your thing. Again, absolute beginners can leave the tremolo bridge completely alone, if they wish, but it is there if you want to start messing around with things. Tremolo bridges aren’t exactly common on cheap guitars either, so this is a nice feature to have at your disposal. Can You Modify The Squier Bullet Stratocaster?

About Squier Bullet Stratocaster

One of the things that made Fender a successful company from the start was its rapid assembly processes. Squier's Contemporary series is another more recent addition to the roster, and offers a range of modern takes on classic guitars that we've not seen before from Squier. You'd be mistaken for thinking that there's plenty of hot-rodded Strats on the market already, but at this price point, there's definitely room for one more. A single strung of the tremolo might put the entire guitar out of tune. However, as beginners won’t be really using this, the tremolo won’t be much of a concern. While it has some limitations regarding buzz noises and tone, it’s going to be really difficult to beat the price of this guitar, unless it’s for my personal favorite, the Squier Vintage Modified Jaguar (however this guitar still sells for a higher price and its harder to play). What you’ll love, though, is how comfortable it feels when you play it, and while it doesn’t have the cleanest tone or the highest range, it works really well.

The first - and main difference - is that they're built in different places. While production began in Japan, Squier guitars are now manufactured in China and Indonesia - as opposed to Fender guitars hailing from Mexico, Japan and the US. This enables Fender to produce Squier guitars at a much lower cost - and therefore, sell them to you at a lower retail price. Mike has got so many other wonderful Strats, but he also loves using these Indonesian-made Squier Bullet Stratocasters. He can’t put the Sonic Grey one down. It’s the first guitar he wants to play every day and he uses it for some big songs in the Genesis set including No Son of Mine and Mama. Here’s an interesting tip: many professionals have invested in the Squier Bullet series so they can smash it in public for a ripping show. So that means it has a good enough tone to play live and, if you have the money and the guts, it’s cheap enough to destroy on the stage and impress the fans.

More so, it’s quite common today to find budget Squier guitars that perform just as good as a Fender selling for three times its price. If not better. The worst thing about the build was the nut installation. Honestly, it’s so bad it’s almost a dealbreaker for me. Fender created this guitar when they realized there was a need for budget-friendly Stratocasters for beginners. Squier represents the affordable side of the Fender brand. Producing officially-licensed Fender designs, Squier guitars are made to the exact same measurements as their parent company’s models. And ultimately, Squier instruments offer that genuine Fender feel and tone for just a fraction of the price. Squier Bullet Series Stratocasters
